On this page
job.technology is committed to responsible use of artificial intelligence. This page explains what AI systems we use, what they do, who provides them, how we address bias, and what rights you have regarding AI-assisted processing on our platform.
This page is intended to meet the disclosure expectations of applicable US law and regulatory guidance, including EEOC guidance on AI in employment and New York City Local Law 144 requirements.
1. What We Use AI For
Job Seeker Tools
- • Resume Optimization: Analyzes and rewrites resume content to improve clarity, impact, and alignment with job descriptions.
- • Cover Letter Generation: Generates tailored cover letters based on the job description and your resume.
- • Interview Preparation: Generates practice interview questions based on the role and your background.
- • Career Document Generation: Generates professional summaries, LinkedIn profiles, skill assessments, and other career documents.
- • Job Match Scoring: Computes a compatibility score between your profile and job listings. This score is advisory only, it does not control your eligibility to apply.
Employer Tools
- • Job Description Generation: Generates and refines job descriptions based on prompts provided by the employer. Employers are solely responsible for reviewing AI-generated descriptions before publishing.
- • Offer Letter Generation: Generates draft offer letter content for employer review and customization.
- • Candidate Ranking: Computes compatibility scores between applicants and posted roles. These scores are advisory only. Hiring decisions remain exclusively with the employer.
Platform Operations
- • Support Chat: AI-powered responses in the support chat interface. Complex or sensitive queries are escalated to human review.
- • Content Moderation: Automated review of job listings and profiles for policy violations, with human review for disputed decisions.
2. AI Model Providers
The following third-party AI model providers are currently used to deliver AI features on the platform:
| Provider | Used For | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic, PBC | All AI text generation features (resume tools, job description generation, cover letters, interview prep, support chat) | Privacy Policy · Responsible AI |
This table will be updated if additional AI providers are added. Resume content and other inputs transmitted to AI providers are subject to those providers' data processing terms.
3. How AI Processing Works
When you use an AI tool on the platform, the following process occurs:
- 1. You provide input (e.g., existing resume text, job description, preferences).
- 2. Your input is combined with a platform-defined prompt and transmitted to the AI model provider (Anthropic) via a secure API connection.
- 3. The model generates output (e.g., rewritten resume, job description draft).
- 4. The output is returned to you for your review, editing, and use. All AI outputs are drafts for human review. Nothing is published or submitted without your explicit action.
- 5. Your usage is logged (tool name, timestamp, token count) for service operation, plan quota tracking, and platform analytics. The content of your inputs and outputs is stored in your account for your future reference and may be deleted by you at any time.
4. Bias and Fairness
AI language models may produce outputs that reflect biases present in their training data, including biases related to gender, age, race, or other protected characteristics. We take the following steps to reduce bias risk on the platform:
- • Our AI prompts are designed to instruct the model to avoid discriminatory or exclusionary language in job descriptions and career documents.
- • We display a notice on all AI-generated outputs reminding users to review them for accuracy and potential bias before using or publishing.
- • Employers are required by our Terms of Service to review AI-generated job descriptions for discriminatory content before publishing.
- • AI-generated candidate rankings are advisory only and are intended to supplement, not replace, human review of applications.
Bias Audits
New York City Local Law 144 requires annual independent bias audits for automated employment decision tools used by NYC employers. We are in the process of commissioning an independent bias audit of our AI hiring tools. Audit results will be published on this page when available. Employers who use our tools in New York City hiring contexts should consult Local Law 144 for their own compliance obligations.
5. Your Right to Human Review
No AI tool on this platform makes final, binding decisions about users. All AI outputs are drafts or advisory scores that require human action to take effect.
If you believe you have been adversely affected by an algorithmic scoring or matching decision on this platform, for example, if you believe your job match scores are inaccurate or that AI-generated content about you contains errors, you have the right to:
- • Request an explanation of how your match score or AI-generated output was produced
- • Request human review of AI-generated outputs that affect you, where required by applicable US state law
- • Correct or delete AI-generated content stored in your account
- • Opt out of AI-assisted matching entirely by contacting us
To request human review, contact us with the subject "Human Review Request."
6. Your Data and AI
What data is sent to AI providers?
The content you input into AI tools (e.g., your resume text, job description content) is transmitted to Anthropic for processing. Your email address, account ID, and payment details are not transmitted to AI providers.
Is my data used to train AI models?
We will not use your personal resume content or career materials to train AI models without your separate, explicit opt-in consent. Anthropic's usage policies for API customers generally prohibit using API inputs to train their models without consent. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Can I delete AI-generated content?
Yes. AI-generated documents stored in your account can be deleted at any time through your account settings. Deleting your account will remove all stored AI outputs within 90 days.
Do AI outputs get shared with employers?
AI-generated content (such as a resume or cover letter) is shared with employers only when you explicitly submit it as part of a job application. AI-generated content is not shared with employers without your action.
7. Legal Classification and Applicable Requirements
NYC Local Law 144
NYC Local Law 144 requires employers who use automated employment decision tools (AEDTs) in hiring decisions affecting NYC residents to conduct annual independent bias audits and provide advance notice to candidates. Our AI candidate ranking tools may constitute AEDTs under this law. Employers using our tools for NYC hiring should evaluate their own obligations under Local Law 144 and may not rely on the platform to conduct required audits on their behalf.
EEOC AI Guidance
The EEOC has issued guidance stating that employers remain responsible for compliance with Title VII and other anti-discrimination laws when using AI hiring tools, even if the tool was developed by a third party. Employers using our AI tools for hiring decisions are solely responsible for ensuring those tools do not have an unlawful disparate impact on protected classes.
Colorado AI Act
The Colorado Artificial Intelligence Act (SB 24-205) establishes obligations for developers and deployers of high-risk AI systems that make, or are a substantial factor in making, consequential decisions about Colorado consumers. We are evaluating whether any of our AI tools constitute high-risk AI systems under this law. Users in Colorado who believe they have been subject to a consequential AI decision may request human review as described above.
EU AI Act
The EU AI Act is not currently applicable because all EU/EEA users are geoblocked. If geographic access is extended to include EU/EEA users in the future, the EU AI Act's requirements, including high-risk classification, conformity assessment, and registration, will be evaluated at that time.
